Launched on 25.08.1938 by Short Brother's Ltd., Sunderland (Yard No. 456) as "MASTER ELIAS KULUKUNDIS" for Atlanticos Steamship Co. Ltd. (Management: Kulukundis Shipping Co. S.A., London), Piraeus. In October 1938 delivered to her owners. Fitted for oil firing, consumption 15-17ton per 24 h. Cargo gear: 10 cargo winches and 10 derricks a ?ton SWL (Safe Working Load). Official No. 942. Call sign: SVXU.

Chartered 11.10.1939 by Kriegs Transport Amt der Schweizerischen Eidgenossenschaft (KTA) (Swiss War Transport Administration), (Management: Honegger & Ascott, London). Her 1st voyage was from London to the River Plate. Insured for about 4’725’000 CHF.

Stopped on 21.5.1941 in the South Atlantic by the German Raider "Atlantis" (HSK/Schiff 16), ex "Goldenfels" (7862/38) and examined by the Germans. After nothing has found the "MASTER ELIAS KULUKUNDIS" could continue her voyage with a cargo for the neutral Switzerland.

The s/s "MASTER ELIAS KULUKUNDIS" sailed for the Swiss Government until December 1947.

1956: Sold to Theseus S.S. Co. Ltd. (Management: Kulukundis Shipping Co. S.A., London), Piraeus. Not renamed.

1958: Renamed "MASTER ELIAS". GRT: 5500, NRT: 3201, DWT: 10'000.

1965: Sold to Umberto d'Amato, Torre del Greco, and renamed "UMBERTO D'AMATO". Official No: 242. GRT: 5433, NRT: 3219, DWT: 10'000. Call Sign: IBWB.

1971: Sold to Giuseppe Lembo, Torre del Greco and renamed "MENA LEMBO". Lloyd's Register No. 5228528.

Resold to Cantieri Navali Santa Maria, La Spezia. The s/s "MENA LEMBO" arrived 29.04.1971 at La Spezia. Demolition began in October 1971.
