The second vessel built by Samsung Heavy Industries, Geoje Shipyard, Geoje, South Korea for MSC in Geneva was the "MSC BEATRICE". The keel was laid on 16.10.2008 and she was launched on 23.12.2008. The ship was delivered to her owners on 04.03.2009. She is 366.07 m long, 51.20 m wide and has a depth of 29.90 m. The summer deadweight is 156,085 metric tonnes on a draught of 15.50 m. The vessel has a capacity of 13,798 TEU. A total of 1000 reefer plugs are provided to run refrigerated containers

Propulsion is by one 12-cylinder, slow speed crosshead diesel engine of MAN-B&W design, type: 12K98MC-C7. The power developed is 72,240 kW (98,250 BHP) at 104 RPM and gives an approximate speed of 24 knots.
